THE legendary wartime bomber the Lancaster made a spectacular return to the region when it touched down at a North Yorkshire airbase.
The huge aircraft, together with the Hurricane and Spitfire of the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, was one of the attractions at RAF Leeming's families' day.
Relatives and friends of personnel at the base were treated to flypasts, pony rides, entertainment and exhibitions.
The event was organised in recognition of the vital work being carried out by station personnel both within the UK and on operations overseas.
It featured stands organised by RAF Leeming-based personnel including 100 Squadron, 34 Squadron RAF Regiment and 10 Field Squadron Royal Engineers.
