Traffic is building near North Road in Darlington after a lorry crashed into a bridge and blocked it.
A picture from the scene shows a large lorry hit the low bridge on Albert Road and collapsed, blocking the road.
The roof of the lorry has completely crumpled and collapsed.
An eyewitness described how it was difficult for traffic to get around the blockage.
We have contacted Durham Police for more information about the incident.
