Kiplin Hall and Gardens to create new welcome centre

The welcome centre project at Kiplin Hall, near Richmond, is officially set to open in 2025, as the attraction celebrates its 400th anniversary.

The centre will include a new tea room, gift shop, ticket office, and museum gallery as well as outdoor dining space and an all-round warmer welcome to those arriving to the hall.

The Director of Kiplin Hall and Gardens, James Etherington said: “We are thrilled to learn we’ve been successful in our application for a £100,000 grant from the Wolfson Foundation.

“Kiplin is an independent charity reliant on ticket sales for income. The larger tea room, expanded gift shop and improved facilities will help us to welcome even more visitors to this special place.”

The Wolfson Foundation is an independent charity with a focus on research and education.

Paul Ramsbottom, chief executive of the Wolfson Foundation, said: “As Kiplin Hall and Gardens approaches its 400th anniversary, we are very pleased to support the organisation with the development of its new welcome centre.

"The new centre will encourage more visitors to the site and provide an appealing insight into Kiplin’s heritage by telling the stories of the people who passed through its doors.”

During 2025, on the 400th year anniversary, there are several events planned to celebrate the milestone year and new chapter in Kiplin’s history.
