Organisers of an annual classic vehicles event have announced it will feature campervans and caravans next year.
Classics on Show, which is organised by Stokesley Rotary Club, will include a dedicated Campervan and Caravan Corner.
The 2025 event will be held on Stokesley Showfield on Saturday, June 14.
Chris Mayes of the organising committee, said: “This initiative follows a survey we conducted on site at this year’s event with campervan owners who welcomed the idea and suggested we also open the dedicate section open to the fast-growing retro caravan segment.
“We have previously grown the show’s profile with the introduction of our dedicated Motorcycle Arena and are looking to replicate that success with the Campervan and Caravan Corner.
Several campervan owners have already signalled their intention to participate, including John Earland of Great Ayton, who intends to exhibit his family’s 1987 VW T25/T3 which has 2.1 fuel injection and an automatic gearbox.
“This a great idea because campervans and caravans are having something of a renaissance moment perhaps due to people wanting to get out and explore after Covid," he said. "They give owners more smiles per gallon, and I think visitors would love to see them."
Stephen Robson of Ingleby Barwick is planning to display his 1967 21 window, split screen deluxe VW. “It’s a great idea, count me in," he said. "I think it is going to encourage more campervan owners than ever to take part and together we’ll make a real splash."
Profits from Classics on Show go to local causes and Rotary charities. Exhibitors to the show enter free though donations are welcomed. Autojumble dealers can secure a standard pitch for £20 while visitors pay £7.50 for entry or £20 for a family ticket of two adults and two children.
