The 162nd Danby Agricultural Show was held in brilliant sunshine and warm temperatures.

Thousands came to the show last Wednesday, and the free parking was stretched across three fields.

Livestock and equestrian classes were busy, and there were many stalls selling all kinds of refreshments. As well as trade stands, there was a Punch and Judy Show, which helped to entertain the children, while music came from Bilsdale Silver Band.

The crafts tent had displays of paintings, jewellery, and fancy goods. The horticulture, produce and handicrafts tent displayed superb examples of all kinds of vegetables, floral art, eggs, jams, and home baking.

A spokesperson for organisers, Danby Agricultural Association, said it has been a "fantastic day".

"The weather was great, the classes were busy and the atmosphere was wonderful," said the spokesperson.

"None of it would be possible without the help of all the show committee and friends who work not only tirelessly on the day, but year-round to ensure the day runs smoothly and successfully. To everyone involved, thank you."

Next year’s show will be on Wednesday, August 13.
