For the latest Business Brew podcast interview (find them all HERE on Spotify and HERE on our YouTube Channel), I got the chance to talk to Darlington's new MP, Lola McEvoy.
We grabbed half an hour in her very busy schedule to talk about the first four months in the role and the challenges and successes coming our way.
Lola told me: "I've been wandering around Parliament with a two-strap backpack that's filled with a laptop and iPad, my bottle of water and a million different briefings. just trying to find a place to work.
"Then someone told me about the House of Commons library and said you should go there and check it out. It was absolutely incredible, just like you'd imagine - very Hogwarts-esque...
"It can all be a little overwhelming, so sometimes I sneak off and think to myself, look, there's people who've been here who've had it a lot harder than I have. And so I certainly try and keep things in perspective. I'm there to do good for the town and I am determined to do that."
