Renowned Barn That Rocks promoter Peter Fall had two reasons to celebrate as he handed over a cheque for the proceeds raised from this year’s event.

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance was presented with £25,391.44, while a further ££1,629.75 was raised for Prostate Cancer UK at the event.

The donation brings the total money raised by Peter and his family through the Barn That Rocks, to £152,956.31 since the first concert was launched 13 years ago.

For Peter it has been a doubly rewarding time, as he has now been given the all clear after undergoing gruelling treatment for prostate cancer over the past year. He said it was the concert which he runs once a year on the family's beloved farm at Patrick Brompton, near Bedale, which helped get him through.

He added: “I am delighted with the result of this year’s concert. The Barn That Rocks got me through some very dark days while I was having my treatment. I am so lucky to have been given the all clear and cannot praise the NHS enough.

John Dodds, who was invited to the concert to help raise awareness and funds to tackle the disease, said: “Thank you Peter for giving us the opportunity to share information about prostate cancer with the local community. The massive sum raised will aid further research.”

Tessa Klemz, of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, added: “We are incredibly grateful for the amazing support from Peter, Barbara and the Barn That Rocks team. The amount raised will make a huge difference and will save lives across Yorkshire. I wish to thank each and every person for their support and amazing generosity.”

Peter is already looking forward to next year’s concert and has named the date as June 7, 2025.
