Skilled community volunteers will be on hand to fix broken household items once again on Sunday.
A pop-up repair and repurposing cafe will take place at Richmond Town Hall from 9.45am to 12.30pm.
The cafe will also feature fun repurposing activities for children and of course, a cafe with tea, coffee, orange squash and cakes.
All kinds of items can be brought in for repair, including bikes, electrical goods, fabric and clothing, soft toys, jewellery, and general household items. The event is free, but donations for any repairs and cafe items will help to fund future dates.
Organiser Valerie Adams said: “It’s immensely satisfying for our volunteer repairers to put their skills to good use, and to see the appreciation of people whose items have been successfully repaired. It’s also great that this can help people save money and do their bit to care for the environment.”
The cafe has been organised by Richmondshire Climate Action Partnership to highlight that waste can be cut by considering if damaged or broken items can be fixed, rather than discarded.
