A new defibrillator has been installed at a sports club thanks to the fundraising efforts of volunteers.

The potentially life-saving equipment is on the wall of Northallerton Town Cricket Club, near the club house door.

It is accessible to not only the hundreds of people who spend time at the cricket club, but to nearby residents.

A spokesperson for the club said: “Having researched and spent time exploring options with the charity Restarting Hearts in Northallerton we were pleased to apply for funding from Broadacres Housing Association and our local councillors.

“All applications were successful, and the club were able to purchase the defibrillator.

“This is a vital piece of equipment that hopefully will not need to be used but in case of an emergency - it is there. Over the coming months the club will provide training for those involved and who want to know how it works.

“Special thanks go to John Logan and his team at Logan Electrics who installed this once it had been delivered so it was ready to be revealed at our junior presentation day.

“Thank you to all those involved in making this happen.”
