An expanding community library is preparing to host a murder mystery evening.

The Globe, in Stokesley is continuously growing its community hub to provide services and entertainment for all ages and tastes.

It has joined forces with Rural Arts in Thirsk to bring professional music and drama events to Stokesley through touring companies.

The first one is Just Some Theatre's production of The Plot Thickens, which will be performed in the newly refurbished library, on Thursday, November 28, at 7.30pm. Tickets are available from 01609 533461, and organisers say the audience should expect the unexpected with ghosts, great storytelling and plenty of laughs.

However, before Rural Arts comes to town, the Globe is hosting its own murder mystery evening on Friday, November 1. It has been written, directed, designed and performed by the Globe Players, the library's drama group, which consists of trustees and volunteers. Drinks and chocolates will be served by the under-butler on arrival, and during the interval, with all donations going to the library. All will be revealed at the end of the evening, with the audience invited to help solve the mystery.

A 1940s dress code is optional. At the time of going to print, just a few tickets were left. Call 01609 533461.
