Resurfacing works are set to get underway on a major Darlington road.

Two-way traffic signals are set to be in place on Yarm Road from Monday (October 28) as carriageway resurfacing works begin.

The junctions of Yarm Road with Hundens Lane and Ridsdale Street will be closed during the works, which are set to last for seven days.

Darlington Council said there will be a signed diversion in place, with all traffic sent towards Hundens Lane via Haughton Road.

The number 18 bus service will not use Yarm Road and Hundens Lane during the work and will instead run via Haughton Road running non-stop to Darlington College.

Passengers on Hundens Lane are advised to walk to Haughton Road or Yarm Road to access bus services.
