A top North Yorkshire hotel is holding a special weekend where guests will learn how to forage for their dinner.
Aldwark Manor Estate, near Easingwold, is staging the event with foraging expert Diana Hammill from Wild Harvest School on November 1 and 2.
Guests will enjoy a guided journey through the 200 acre estate where they will learn to identify wild plants, herbs, mushrooms, and berries, unlocking their potential as ingredients in delicious dishes.
On offer will be an overnight stay at the hotel, a foraging session led by Diana, gourmet dining in the Elements restaurant, and breakfast from £149 per person.
The foraging experience is available as a day package for £45, including a cream tea.
Diana said: “Having visited Aldwark Manor Estate for the first time recently to prepare for the event, I was amazed by the expansive, well-maintained grounds and the connection guests have with nature here.
“I discovered a wealth of edible plants and trees, including birch trees for vitamin-rich sap, thistles for stir-fries, and Hogweed, which brings a unique spice to sweet and savoury dishes. I’m eager to showcase the natural abundance that this exceptional estate offers during this event."
