The A1(M) is closed northbound and southbound at junction 51 to junction 53 tonight for work.
The closure will last from 8pm tonight (October 28) until 6am tomorrow morning as workmen renew a bridge joint.
It will affect motorists travelling north to Darlington past Leeming Bar and Scotch Corner.
Entryways and exit slip roads will also be closed while work is carried out.
A National Highways spokesperson said: "A1M northbound and southbound junction 51 to junction 53 Carriageway closure for bridge joint renewal work."
