Leyburn Arts and Community Centre, in collaboration with bookshop, The Wonky Tree, is is hosting an evening with Dr Rosie Page, daughter of James Herriot author Alf Wight.
The evening will include the screening of the original 1975 film of All Creatures Great and Small. Following an interval, during which refreshments will be available, Rosie will answer questions from audience members about her life and memories of her father.
At the end of the night, a selection of Herriot-related books will be available to buy, signed by Rosie on request. Orders can also be taken prior to the event via Alan and Claire at The Wonky Tree Bookshop (www.thewonkytreebookshop.co.uk).
Donations will be taken on the night for Herriot Hospice Homecare, which is opening a new in-patient hospice at the former Lambert Memorial Hospital in Thirsk.
Rosie is an ambassador for the charity and has been at the heart of the fundraising drive.
The evening takes place on Tuesday, November 19, with doors opening at 6.15pm for a 7pm start.
