A popular Darlington pub has been put up for sale - just months after reopening.
The Corner House, on Skinnergate, has hit the market with a price tag of £20,000, around seven months after re-launching following a major refurb.
The venue has a long history in the town, running as Frankies for 11 years before being revamped into Fraser’s Bar in 2020 for a short stint.
It became The Corner House in 2024, launching on Good Friday as an “upmarket” pub where punters can enjoy live sport while supping on a range of drinks.
Earlier this year, The Northern Echo reported how the pub had applied for a new pavement license to add seating outside.
At the time, owner Daniel Lowe said the venue wanted to “enhance the customer experience whilst enjoying the great British weather” - adding that it would be a complementary addition to the café culture” being implemented elsewhere in the town.
This pavement license was granted in October 2024, allowing for a further 26 outside seats to be added to the site.
The reason behind the sale is not yet known.
Agent Parker Barras said: “Parker Barras is delighted to bring this recently refurbished pub to the market.
“Based in a prime location, 27 Skinnergate, Darlington DL3 7NW, the pub underwent a full refurbishment in April of 2024 all done to a very high standard.
“The Corner House currently trades seven days a week from 11:30am - 11:30pm. A new pavement license was granted in October 2024, allowing for a further 26 outside seats.
“To be offered on a new lease for a term to be agreed at £18,000 per annum.”
