In March this year Soroptimist International of Richmond and Dales celebrated International Women’s Day by putting on an exhibition of more than 100 women who contribute to life in Richmond.
The response from the many people who came to see it was so encouraging that the group is expanding the exhibition for 2025 to include women of Richmondshire.
The exhibition will be on display in Richmond Town Hall on Friday, March 7 but members plan to bring it to other centres across Richmondshire after that.
A spokesperson for the group said: "We are therefore asking anyone in Richmondshire to nominate the women, either individually or in teams, who contribute to local life. They may be in any role, no matter how exalted or humble, but each will in some way keep the wheels of their community turning or enhance local life.
"We will need the contact details of each nominated woman so that we can ask for their permission and a photograph and short description of what they do in their locality.
"International Women’s Day is an opportunity to celebrate the many varied and often unseen ways in which local women contribute to their communities.
"Please email your nominations to sirichmondanddales@yahoo.com."
