Members of the Friarage Hospital Breast Cancer Support Group, along with their treasurer, have received a cheque for £650 from the staff of a department store's lingerie section.
The money was raised at Barkers on Northallerton High Street during Breast Cancer Awareness Week in October when the staff held a raffle and bucket collection,
The money will go towards supporting patients of the Breast Care Nurses in the Scott Suite at the Friarage Hospital.
The Friarage Breast Cancer Support Group is a self-help group for anyone being treated or recovering from breast cancer, and meets in a private room in the Robert Ogden Centre at the Friarage Hospital between 10am and 12pm for a chat over tea/coffee and biscuits.
Anyone affected by breast cancer would be most welcome to join them. The next meeting is on Monday, November 18 and then from January 2025 the meetings will be held there regularly on the second Monday of each month.
Further information can be obtained from the breast cancer nurses in the Scott Suite at the Friarage Hospital.
