A block of 12 apartments in Darlington has hit the market for £975,000.

The modern three-storey block, known as Quincy House, was constructed in 2019 and is located on the corner of Eastmount Road and Valley Street North.

According to estate agents Carver Commercial, the location is part of the "Town Centre Fringe", an area identified for development and regeneration in the town's local plan.

The neighbourhood is densely populated and includes local amenities such as JD Gym and The Gym Group, as well as various eateries on North Road.

Town centre amenities are within walking distance, and the location provides easy access to major roads, linking swiftly with the A1(M) and A66.

Each floor of the block contains four one-bedroom apartments, each covering an area of 35-37 sq. metres.

The apartments have a modern specification, featuring an open-plan living room and kitchen, a bedroom, and a bathroom.

They are heated via electrically operated wall-mounted radiators and are equipped with an independent fire alarm system.

Externally, the block provides undercroft parking for 10 vehicles, along with additional marked parking space for three vehicles.

Most of the apartments are occupied by Everyone Matters Homes CIC, a not-for-profit community interest company formed in 2023.

The company aims to provide and manage housing for people in need.

Everyone Matters Homes CIC is currently working with Mears Group on various housing projects.

The company has occupied 11 of the 12 apartments on a three-year lease term from February 5, 2024, with a rent of £78,540 per annum (£595 per month per apartment).

One of the apartments is privately occupied through a Standard Assured Shorthold Tenancy at £595 per month (£7,140 per annum).

This tenancy was granted prior to the CIC lease, and it is expected that Everyone Matters Homes CIC will take control of this apartment once the fixed term period expires.
