A warning to shoppers and businesses has been issued after fake £20 notes circulated around several shops in North Yorkshire and Darlington.
Fake £20 notes used in Northallerton and Darlington:
The offences occurred on several occasions, including Thursday, October 31, at Asda Petrol Station in Northallerton, who reported receiving fake £20 notes as payment for goods.
Other reports have been made that businesses in Darlington have also been the victim of fake £20 notes.
North Yorkshire Police has issued a CCTV appeal as part of catching people responsible for the fake banknotes.
If you recognise the person pictured on the CCTV image as he may have information that will assist the police's investigation, North Yorkshire Police have asked people to get in touch.
