A popular pub has reopened after a six figure investment has seen it "transformed".

The Talbot Hotel, in Richmond, North Yorkshire, shut in early November after a huge investment from pub group Stonegate.

Over the last few weeks, new features have been added to the establishment, such as plush bench seating, an adjusted bar layout, and a sports area and dartboard, and HD TVs.

New decorating work has also been undertaken at the Talbot Hotel, like installing fresh carpets.

The pub's overall capacity has been increased too by following the works, and changes to the bar should make service quicker.

Located on the town's Market Place, the pub is advertised as Richmond’s go-to destination for pub sports.

Situated near popular walking routes, this community pub is a favourite stop for dog owners, welcoming four-legged friends throughout and offering the perfect spot to enjoy a pint with your pooch.

Kicking off the new-look pub in style, country singer, Ricky West, will be performing an array of hits from 5pm to 7pm followed by a special Thursday night karaoke, where guests are invited to find their inner George Michael.

All are invited down for what is set to be an "unmissable night" of entertainment.

Michelle Atkins, Operator of the Talbot Hotel, said: “We’re excited to welcome locals back to our newly refurbished pub and have planned a lineup of fun reopening events coming up for all to enjoy.

“We know the work completed has not only enhanced our warm and welcoming atmosphere but also strengthened the pub's community spirit, which was at the heart of our thoughts during the investment.

“We cannot wait to showcase all the new features we have been working hard on behind the scenes for guests to enjoy.”
