An event held by a North Yorkshire school will look to address ways that they can help children with Special Educational Needs (SEN). 

Today (November 26), Northallerton School and Sixth Form College is hosting the Adaptive Teaching Training Course for the North Yorkshire, Hambleton and Richmond Locality Board between 2pm and 4pm.

This event will comprise 24 delegates from across the region, coming together to discuss how they can better meet the needs of their pupils with SEND.

This collaborative event is an opportunity to discuss how the school can engage SEND pupils from across North Yorkshire, improving their educational experience and providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all.

The Arete Trust, which Northallerton School is part of, said: "We truly believe that every child deserves the best learning experience possible and the event is a fantastic opportunity to work together and improve educational attainment amongst children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities across our region."

This meeting comes months after several parents of SEN children at Northallerton School raised concerns about the education their children were receiving. 

Parents have become so frustrated at the lack of action from the school that they have created a Facebook page named 'The Areté Trust are failing our children'.

The meeting is also part of several others that Northallerton School have held in recent months, which has looked to collaborate with parents of SEN children.
