Staff were reportedly threatened with a knife and cash stolen during a robbery at a Darlington shop last night - the second of this nature in a matter of weeks.
Police were called to Sainsbury's on Corporation Road in Darlington last night (December 1) after reports of a robbery where staff were "threatened with a knife".
Reports say a man threatened staff just after 10pm before taking cash from the till.
An investigation is underway, and officers say they would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or saw a man acting suspiciously in the area at the time.
Police added: "Anyone with any information should contact Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting incident number 433 of December 1, or contact us online at www.durham.police.uk."
As of December 2, the store is open as usual.
This is now the second reported robbery at the store in a matter of weeks.
On November 13, two people reportedly took cash, cigarettes, alcohol, and energy drinks from the shop before making off in the direction of Branksome Terrace.
A similar investigation into that incident is also underway.
