YOUNGSTERS at a village primary school have had a taste of the Continent this week.
Croft Primary School has been celebrating European Awareness Week with a series of activities and events.
Each day of the week, the school canteen has been dishing up meals from different countries in Europe.
As well as different foodstuffs, the menus were printed in both languages.
The school also held a special assembly where each class performed a presentation.
These ranged from a singalong of Frere Jacques to a performance of different phrases in European languages.
There was also a book reading of the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears in French.
Barbara Leggott, organiser of the assembly, said: “This is about the fifth or sixth year we’ve celebrated European Awareness Week. We’ve an international school award and this is a part of what we do.”
