A TEESSIDE photographer has just completed a £30,000 commission for Renault.

Alan McPhail, from Thorpe Thewles, near Stockton, was hired to shoot the photography for a new European campaign promoting Renault’s 54-point control check on their used cars.

Mr McPhail, who spent a week on the shoot in Rome, said: “This latest commission is an example of how complex a shoot can be, but also how interesting and fulfilling.

“I spent a week perfecting the image using specialist lighting, similar to that used in film and TV, and working with models from the Rome area who I had to photograph separately to the car in order to capture the image correctly.”

Mr McPhail has more than 20 years’ experience and has worked all over the world for companies such as Nike, Audi, BMW, Sony, the BBC, Waitrose, Saatchi and Saatchi, the London Stock Exchange, as well as One North East and DigitalCity in Middlesbrough.

He has also picked up numerous awards including a Lions International Advertising Award in Cannes and various awards from the Association of Photographers in London.

Mr McPhail said: “I am passionate about photography and it is amazing to get the opportunity to shoot for such highprofile companies all over the world.

“However, my love for the North-East and the variety of work I get asked to carry out means that I am now fortunate enough to be able to base myself in my home town.”
