A PRIMARY school is to benefit from a new £1.4m children’s centre.
The project at Layfield Primary School in Yarm is scheduled for completion in March 2010.
As well as a children’s centre, the school will benefit from a new foundation stage unit.
The project is being funded through Stockton Borough Council’s capital building programme with contributions from Sure Start’s capital programme and the school’s own budget.
Coun Alex Cunningham, Stockton Borough Council’s cabinet member for children and young people, said: “This is great news for the school and the local community. This new facility will make Layfield even better.”
