A TEENAGE maths prodigy is calculating the probability of a perfect score and wowing his teachers by achieving top exam results.

Numbers wizard Christopher Nuttall notched up 100 per cent in each of his three GCSE maths modules - putting him on target for a flawless final mark.

His tutor at Northallerton College, Victoria Crooks, has been teaching maths for 20 years. She said: "This is a stunning achievement.

"In all my years of teaching I have only come across a handful of students who have achieved a perfect score.

"Concentration and attention to detail are paramount to achieving results like this - but Christopher's aptitude for mathematics is also built on his natural talent and ability to focus."

She added: "We tend to get waves of two or three excellent maths students a year, but Christopher has an exceptional talent and I hope he continues his maths studies through to A-level and on to university."

Christopher, 16, of Brompton, Northallerton, hopes to go on to study further maths, physics, chemistry and biology at A-level.

He said "I have always found maths easy. It just seemed to click at primary school and when I look at numbers and equations they just seem to make sense.

"I was hoping to get full marks and was thrilled when I was told I'd got 100 per cent in all three modules, especially as I didn't do as much work at home as I should have. Thankfully, numbers just seem to come naturally to me."

Despite his talent with numbers Christopher still has no idea what career he will pursue.

"I just want to pick something I like and am good at," he said.
