CHILDREN at a Darlington nursery had a lesson on the world of work during a visit from a doctor.
Dr Alex Calabro, the father of Ferndene Nursery four-year-old Michael, gave the toddlers a talk on the medical profession.
The visit was part of the nursery’s Look After Yourself series of events, designed to teach the children about the importance of healthy living.
Nursery nurse Leanne Grant said: “We wanted the children to learn about how important it is to go to the doctor when you are not feeling well.
“The talk was fantastic, and he brought along lots of medical equipment for the children to play with.
“One of our children’s dad is a dentist, so he will be coming along to give us a talk next week.
“Children are often wary about visiting the doctor, but this helped them realise there is nothing to fear.”
