celebrities thanks to a new healthy recipe book.

Pupils at Hartburn Primary School, near Stockton, have produced the book using their own recipes, together with meals from their favourite stars.

Year six children wrote to a number of famous people asking for their preferred meals.

Contributions include Newcastle United striker Michael Owen’s spaghetti bolognese, 10 Downing Street’s tomato soup, rugby star Jonny Wilkinson’s spicy chicken pitta pockets with almond and apricots, and celebrity chef Gary Rhodes’ seared halibut.

Other recipes were sent in from parents, grandparents and staff at the school.

Mavis Hardwick, of Hartburn Primary School, said: “We produced one about seven years ago, so I thought it was about time we did another one.

“We had a fantastic response from the celebrities and the children really enjoyed bringing in their own recipes.

“We have had a great response so far and we have already printed off 250 copies.”
