EVER-GROWING health and safety demands has led to increased business for one Tees Valley company.
R S Industrial Services, of Billingham, carries out on-site safety audits for companies and has recruited two new sales executives, bought three more vans, and is developing an online engineering supply shop to cope with demand.
The company now has a team of 26 which works on projects across the UK and Europe.
Each division – from the maintenance and repair of overhead cranes and lifting equipment to the tool and equipment hire, training division and engineering supply shop – is doing well.
“As health and safety guidelines become more wide-ranging and tougher, companies are coming under increasing pressure,” said Mike Riley, of RSIS.
“We are happy to carry out on-site audits for customers to ensure they use the correct personal protective equipment, tools and engineering products. With new and innovative products being developed all the time, this can all help companies make valuable cost savings.”
As an independent, the company works closely with most major manufacturers and encourages site visits to look at specific applications and training requirements.
RSIS opened an engineering supply shop just over a year ago and it is doing so well that it is shortly opening an online shop at www.rsis.co.uk.
The company is in its eighth year and has received help from UK Steel Enterprise on three occasions – the last was part of a £500,000 investment in a four-acre site on Haverton Hill Road last year.
