A LUXURY North Yorkshire hotel has completed the first stage of a £250,000 refurbishment project.
The Crab Manor Hotel at Asenby, near Thirsk, is famous for having its 14 rooms themed after some of the world’s greatest hotels and decorated with authentic artefacts from each one.
As part of the upgrade, new rooms in honour of the Burj Al Arab, in Dubai, and London’s Ritz Hotel have been created.
Four of the rooms in the grade IIlisted Georgian manor house have been refurbished, with a further five undergoing similar upgrades.
New bathroom suites, lighting, wall coverings, fixtures and furnishings have been added to all the rooms.
The dining area in the neighbouring Crab and Lobster restaurant has also been upgraded.
Jason Greenwood, managing director of owners Vimac Leisure, which owns the hotel and restaurant, said: “The feedback from the first guests to stay in the refurbished rooms has been very positive and we’re looking forward to completing the project as soon as we can.”
