THE acquisition of a Darlington company has created one of the largest firms of bailiffs in the North.
National Enforcement Services has been bought by the JBW Group, a London-based debt management and enforcement company.
NES was founded by Andy Coates. He and his 14 staff will continue to deliver bailiff services across the region, specialising in the enforcement of council tax, commercial rent recovery and removing travellers for local authorities.
Mr Coates, who works alongside his wife Sue, has more than 20 years’ experience. He launched the UK’s first bailiff franchises in Durham, Derby and Preston, which will continue as part of the JBW Group.
He joins the board of directors of the JBW Group and will continue to manage the NES team.
The JBW Group was founded in 2004 by young entrepreneur Jamie Waller and now employs more than 100 nationwide.
Mr Waller, JBW group managing director, said they were pleased to be basing their northern operation from Darlington.
