A GROUP of visitors to Wensleydale from South America were impressed with the scenery, but found it rather cold.
As part of the group study exchange program, the Rotary Club of Wensleydale hosted five visitors from Venezuela.
The three women and two men stayed with Rotary members.
The exchange is designed to develop skills among young professional people to prepare them in an increasingly global workplace.
A programme of visits was laid on for the group, who included journalists and a scientist. They were given a tour of the area, visiting Wensleydale Creamery, Fountains Abbey and Askrigg Primary School.
Group leader Angel Fernando said: “We all enjoyed the landscape, heritage, food and the friendship shown to us. Yorkshire is a wonderful place, if a little cold compared to home.”
Rotary Club president John Borrill said a team from the UK would visit Venezuela next year.
