A GROUP of fundraisers is urging people to get into the festive spirit by going for a run – dressed as Father Christmas.
Last week a group of Santas were practising for the first British Heart Foundation (BHF) Richmond Santa Mile, taking place on Saturday, December 8, at Richmond Swimming Pool.
Maureen Gibbon, BHF Richmond and area fundraising committee chairman, said: “The Richmond Santa Mile is a fantastic, fun event, and registration is now open.
“Seeing hundreds of Santa Clauses walking and jogging along the old railway line will certainly be a sight.”
Entry is £8 in advance, on or before Friday, November 30, or £10 on the day for adults and children aged 14 and over, and includes a free Santa suit. Competitors are invited to raise additional money through personal sponsorship.
Children under 14 go free, and are asked to come in festive fancy dress, and need to be accompanied by a fee-paying adult.
To register, call the Richmond Santa Mile team on 01623-624558, or email north@bhf.org.uk
