Sir, - On April 1, three more healthy alders were ordered to be cut down for no good reason on Low Green, Great Ayton, making the total now of 14 trees.
April Fool's Day? I rest my case.

Sir, - I walked along Low Green, Great Ayton, and was surprised to see the river with a clear reflection of the trees on the opposite bank in the still water.
It is due to the removal of the many self-seeded hockey stick trees that had previously concealed the river.
