Sir, - I would like to thank all those people who recently sponsored me to run the London Marathon, and in so doing have helped me raise funds for The Stroke Association. Those of you who knew my father, David Duffus, will know that he sadly died after a series of strokes just over three years ago, and therefore I am very pleased to have been able to raise over £4,000 for such a worthy cause.
I would especially like to thank the staff of The Three Horse Shoes, Wensley, who organised a fundraising pub quiz, the office staff of Leyburn auction mart, who held a collection, and The Moulton Moaners: Judith Colliers, Dawn Phillips and Julia Stephenson who helped me train throughout the winter and in all the help they gave me with the fundraising.
If anyone would still like to donate, it can be done online at: www.justgiving.com/richardduffus..
