Sir, - Having telephoned various heating oil suppliers, we settled for Bayford Oil's price.
The figure of 52.9p per litre plus VAT was quoted.
When the invoice arrived it was made out at 54.9p plus VAT a difference of £20. However there was a prompt payment discount offered (not mentioned when quoted) which if taken would give a price of 52.9p.
So one would assume if you didn't pay on time you wouldn't qualify for the discount? And end up paying 54.9 per litre.
Straightforward invoicing, I don't think so.
