Sir, - It was with disgust I read about Bernard Borman's complaint about the Wensleydale Railway. I feel awfully sorry about him not been able to sleep in his garden because of the excess noise from a train whistle!
As regards his support of the Wensleydale Railway and railways in general, perhaps he does not remember the great job they did in the Second World War.
Good luck to the Wensleydale Railway and the North Yorkshire Moors Railway also.
By the way, how long has Mr Borman resided in the countryside?
I feel sorry for him.
FRED C PATRICK Norby, Thirsk.
