Sir, - I am glad that the Wensleydale Railway is operating the railway but there are rules. I don't create noise and disturbance against my neighbour and I expect that to be reciprocated.

Before I give an opinion on anything, and I may be wrong in my conclusions at times, I always carefully research the subject and seek the opinion of competent people. In this case my research is based on communications with other railway companies, Hambleton and Ryedale District Councils, and the Noise Abatement Society.

I am not aware that any sensible investigation was carried out by Richmondshire District Council, nor did anyone attend our property. Consequently one can only assume that no investigation took place.
