Sir, – A seasoned campaigner told me many years ago “Attack the principle, not the person”, tempting though it may be, for example, to vilify Mr Borman of Leyburn (D&S letters, Sept 19).
Mr Borman wants less noise.
Who can possibly disagree with that? I too am currently campaigning for more democracy, particularly over Richmondshire District Council election procedures, also the primary care trust’s aloofness and threats to local health care and, thirdly, for better bus services for Richmondshire.
To the individuals involved, fairness is due though it is tempting to be otherwise.
