Sir, – On Monday, April 13, I had a fall at Helmsley and broke my ankle.
I should just like to thank the lady who came and comforted me until the arrival of the ambulance.
She was walking her dog with her mother and, although I cannot recollect her name, I do know she said she was or had been a nurse.
Hopefully she, or someone who knows who she is, will read this and know how much I appreciated her kindness.
I would also like to thank the gentleman from the Lodge who called the ambulance, provided blankets and gave support to me and my companion.
Sincere thanks to all concerned, human kindness is alive and kicking in Helmsley.
JOYCE RICHARDSON Lady Park, Gateshead.
