Sir, – There should be no criticism of the police for impounding the sex object from Simply Dutch at Leeming Bar. It is a pity that the proprietor has chosen to publicly market obscenity.

Decent people know better and the laws of the land were conceived for them, with a respect for humanity.

The law is clear and recent.

The item displayed is an offence under the Public Order Act of 1986 and I, for one, thank the member of the public who brought this to the attention of the police and the police themselves for taking notice of the complaint.
