Sir, – I see that another application has been made for a wind farm in the North-East – in this case County Durham. It may not be a place of outstanding natural beauty but from the TV pictures it is very pleasant.

Why do they not put these farms in areas that have already been ruined?

The biggest blot on the British landscape is the M25.

People in London want electricity.

There are large areas near the M25 that are relatively free of houses so they can take their share of these ‘elegant’ structures.

I hear people say that it is not a windy area. Possibly not but there must be sufficient hot air generated in London to keep the turbines moving.
