Sir, – I refer to Masham Parish Council report in your newspaper dated September 28 and in particular the report under the heading HSBC ATM installation. “Following the closure of HSBC bank in Masham, it was reported that it was considering whether to maintain a cash machine in Masham and the bus shelter had been suggested as a possible location.”
We all know what happened to the ATM in Park Street in January 2012. Lest anyone has forgotten, the machine was ripped from the wall of the premises used by the Co-operative Society at that time. I shudder to think what might happen if a cash machine was installed in the bus shelter.
