Darlington’s annual 5k festive fun run is back and ready for participants of all ages, from little ones to seasoned runners, this Santa Run welcomes all.
The beloved tradition is not an average race; it’s an opportunity for everyone to embrace the holiday spirit whilst donned in Santa suits and raising money for St Teresa’s Hospice. On Sunday 3rd December West Park Academy will be filled in a sea of red and white, as runners of all abilities jingle all the way to the finish line.
Participants can choose a shorter route than the 5k loop that caters to various fitness/age levels; whether you’re an experienced runner or simply looking to have a jolly good time, this is the event for you. For those who don’t find running to be their thing, having a stroll around the route is certainly encouraged too!
The Santa Run is not just about a race; it’s a chance to give back to the community. Spare proceeds from the event will go towards St Teresa’s Hospice, making a positive impact on the lives of those in need during the holiday season.
St Teresa’s Hospice has an admirable cause; they offer palliative and end of life care and support to people with life-limiting illness, and to their families or carers. Their commendable aim is to provide the best possible care and enhance the quality of life whilst aiding people to live with their illness, as comfortably as possible.
So, by lacing up your running shoes you’re not only having fun in your community, but you're having fun for a good cause.
