A PUPIL at Ampleforth College has been selected to join a national equestrian squad.
Issy Saxby, a Year 10 student at the school, has been selected to join the British Eventing Under 18s Development Squad.
The squad is made up of young juniors who have been identified as “having future potential” in the eventing world.
A spokesman for Ampleforth College said that Issy had been asked to compete internationally this summer.
She will travel with other successful members of the team to the Millstreet International Horse Trials in County Cork, Ireland, in late August.
The purpose of the competition is to give the riders international experience, which will be invaluable to them in their future eventing careers.
Issy joined Ampleforth College in September 2017.
