AMATEUR riders flocked to Port Royal Equestrian Centre in Holme-on-Spalding-Moor, York, to secure qualification for the Dodson & Horrell 85cm and 1.05m finals at the Dodson & Horrell National Amateur Championships at Aintree Equestrian Centre in Liverpool on 13 – 18 November.
ESTELLA HARROWING from Whitby, jumped to the top in the Dodson & Horrell 85cm National Amateur Second Round on Dereks Choice.
Exactly half of the twenty-six starters came forward to make 13 for the jump-off over a 10-fence course but in the event only two provided double clears, Estella proving by far the quickest.
Cutting corners to the minimum on her own Irish-bred 11-year-old gelding Dereks Choice, Estella secured victory by 2.29 seconds.
