TALENTED young riders have put North Yorkshire on the equestrian map after coming top in national competition classes.
The teams from Queen Mary’s School, near Thirsk,recently competed at the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) Championship Finals in Bedfordshire.
The 80cm Show Jumping team and 80cm Jumping With Style team both finished as the top English school and second in the UK.
As an individual, the Queen Mary’s riding captain, Dee Ormston finished third place in the 90cm Show Jumping.
Emma Swinburn, riding manager, said: “I am so proud of every one of the girls for going up against some of the largest schools in the country and succeeding.” She also praised their attitude and horsemanship.
