DARLINGTON Mowden Park Sharks have earned the chance to tilt for a place in the top division of the women's game in England.

The Sharks have been beaten only once this season in the Northern division of the national league, scoring 514 points and conceding only 92, and they beat Bath 29-19 in the Championship Cup final at Lichfield.

England fly half Katy McLean scored two tries and kicked three penalties and a conversion, while centre Jo Watmore crossed twice.

Tomorrow week, at a venue still to be decided, the Sharks will play against Worcester for a place in the Premiership.

Coach Jo Hull said: "Our girls have been great all season and produced consistent performances.We know we need to up our game to beat Worcester and reach the Premiership.
