LEYBURN United continue to set the pace at the top of the table as they came from behind to beat Buck Inn Old Boys 5-1 at home last Saturday to make it six wins out of six.

Scott Ryan had given the visitors a shock fourth minute lead, but goals from Ashley Lytolis and Barry Jackson had Leyburn in front by the break. The leaders then got on top in the second half and Lytolis went on to complete his hat-trick, while Charlie Aliss rounded off the scoring with a fine long-range effort late on.

Hawes United are now the only other side left with a 100 per cent record after they won 6-2 at Colburn Town. With both teams arriving with four wins out of four something had to give, and when Mark Jamieson put the hosts ahead early on it looked like Hawes were going to crack.

But they came storming back with goals from Stuart Haygarth, Steve Calvert, Jonathan Champion and Stuart Dinsdale to have the points wrapped up before the break. Dinsdale then hit his 11th goal of the season soon after the restart while Darren Bell then made it 6-1 on the hour.

Keeper Ryan Lambert saved a penalty from Michael Brend to deny the hosts a way back into the match, but he was beaten again late on when Tom Keegan scored from close range.

Champions Bowes eased to a 5-0 win at Askrigg United to stay in third place. First half goals from Andrew Close and Matthew Harrison set Bowes on their way, while Rory Edwards, Jason Tobell and Close again sealed the points after the break.

Richmond Town Academy are up to fourth after they beat Hawes B 10-2 at home to make it 19 goals from their last two matches. Josh Lincoln and Sam Pritchard both hit hat-tricks while Stuart Pigg, Steve Fenwick, Dan Peck and a first ever goal from Mark Forrest brought up double figures for a rampant Academy.

A late brace from Johnny Guy, the second from the penalty spot, gave Hawes some consolation on a day they will otherwise want to forget.

Buck Inn Broncos drew 1-1 at home with Carperby Rovers in a result which does neither side any favours in the title race. Phil Stirling gave the hosts a 47thminute lead as they looked to gain control, but Mark Robinson equalised for Rovers on the hour and that was the way it finished.

Another match to end in a 1-1 draw was between Richmond Mavericks A and Spennithorne at Easby. Josh Patterson put the Mavericks ahead ten minutes into the second half, but Carl Orton brought Spenny level soon after with his sixth goal of the season to mean the points were shared.

Unicorn FC made the short trip to Richmond Athletic and came away with a fine 5-3 victory.

A brace apiece for LiamWaller and Mark Turner, plus a strike
