COMPETITORS from across the country took part in a North-East pony show at the weekend.
The Dales Pony Society Spring Stallion and Breed Show took place at Streatlam Farm, near Barnard Castle on Saturday.
More than 150 ponies from as far away as Kent and Surrey competed.
Freda Longstaff, from the Dales Pony Society, said: “It’s a traditional pony show and we have people who come every year from all over the country and a good strong local turnout too.
“We have been lucky with the weather and it was a great day.
Lots of ponies and lots of people coming to see them. Competitors and spectators alike.”
Overall champion was Westwick Heather, a seven-year-old geld mare exhibited by David and Alison Eccles, from Middleton-in- Teesdale.
Reserve champion was Castle Hill Topper, a six-year-old stallion, exhibited by David and Alison Eccles.
Young stock champion was Tudor Raven, a two-year-old colt, exhibited by Dale and Sarah Harrison, from Tudhoe, near Spennymoor.
Reserve young stock champion was Nipna Foxglove, a yearling filly, exhibited by Amanda Wallace, from Trimdon Station, County Durham.
